Jill Gabriel

Jill Gabriel is a British primary teacher with 15 years of international classroom experience, having taught in the UK, Canada, America, Abu Dhabi, China and Japan. She currently teaches in an international school in Tokyo and has experience across the UK National Curriculum, the IB Primary Years Programme, and Australian, Canadian and American curricula, supporting students in diverse international learning environments. She has also served as a Head of English, leading literacy development within her school.
Jill specialises in helping children build strong foundations in reading, writing and mathematics across the primary years. Her teaching reflects the inquiry-based approach found in many international schools, helping students develop independence, curiosity and strong learning habits.
Lessons with Jill are not simply another school lesson. She focuses on building confident learners by helping children understand how learning works, strengthening their thinking, and developing positive relationships that support growth and resilience. She works closely with students and families to understand each child’s strengths, challenges and learning goals.
Students are also guided in using modern tools such as AI thoughtfully and responsibly to support their learning, creativity and problem-solving.

Vanessa Chatfield is a New Zealand primary teacher with 13 years teaching experience with extensive experience teaching young learners in Australia, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates and Japan. She currently teaches in an IB Primary Years Programme school in Tokyo and has also worked as a Literacy Lead, supporting teachers to strengthen reading instruction across their schools. Her teaching experience spans the IB Primary Years Programme, the New Zealand Curriculum and the Australian Curriculum, supporting students in diverse international learning environments.
Vanessa specialises in helping younger students build strong foundations in reading, writing and language. Her teaching reflects the inquiry-based approach of the IB Primary Years Programme, helping students develop curiosity, critical thinking and confidence as learners.
She is passionate about creating nurturing learning environments where children feel safe to explore ideas, ask questions and develop a love of learning. Students are also guided in using modern tools such as AI thoughtfully to support their learning, creativity and problem-solving.

Brian Morris

Brian Morris is an American mathematics teacher with over 12 years of classroom experience teaching in international schools. He currently teaches mathematics in an IB programme in Tokyo and has experience supporting students working within the IB, Cambridge, UK National Curriculum and US Common Core curricula.
Brian holds a degree in Mathematics and specialises in helping students understand mathematical ideas clearly and confidently. His teaching focuses on building strong number sense, developing reasoning skills and helping students break complex problems into manageable steps.
He creates a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing confidence in their mathematical thinking.

Sam Wylie is a British primary teacher with over 11 years of classroom experience teaching in the UK and international schools in Tokyo. He has experience teaching students working within the IB Primary Years Programme, the English National Curriculum and the Canadian curriculum.
Sam specialises in helping students develop strong literacy skills, confidence in communication and a genuine enjoyment of learning. His teaching combines creative approaches to reading and writing with clear instruction that helps students understand ideas deeply and express their thinking with confidence.
He is also passionate about digital learning and supports students in using modern tools, including AI, to enhance creativity, research and problem solving.
Sam believes that strong relationships with students are at the heart of great teaching and works to create engaging lessons where children feel motivated, confident and proud of their progress.
